For many of us 2020 has forced us to get up close and personal with the dangers of viruses and the best way to protect ourselves from them. However, with all this new information it is easy to get lost in terminology.
Out of all the terms being used, there is one that is key to ensuring you and your family have the right protection when choosing a face mask, this is PFE or Particulate Filtration Efficiency.
PFE measures how well a mask filters out the smallest of particles, including dust, pollution, and even viruses. The higher the PFE percentage the better the mask will protect you, the wearer from breathing in harmful particles.
Paper and cloth face coverings do not form a seal around your mouth and nose and due to this have a very low PFE as the air you are breathing is able to enter around the sides of the mask. They do serve a key purpose, which is to stop the wearer spreading anything they breathe out.
There are masks available to the public that have a PFE of more than 98% and surprisingly they are not too different in price to there far less effective alternatives. Find out more at www.breathe-happy.com.
The simple question is when choosing a face mask is: Am I trying to protect others from me or to protect myself from others?
For more information, discounts, and offers follow breathe happy on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
10 lucky winners will each receive a breathe happy 'COMMUTER' face mask which comes with 5 x 7-day filters and a protective pouch!
This competition ends on 01/01/2021.
